Today’s Issue: Building Honestly From Scratch

Quick note before we begin
If you ever want to know how fast adulthood hits, try owing money you haven’t even calculated yet. That’s where I am. My debt balance is basically a shy landlord — it keeps increasing silently without telling me. But we move.

How High-Net-Worth Families Invest Beyond the Balance Sheet

Every year, Long Angle surveys its private member community — entrepreneurs, executives, and investors with portfolios from $5M to $100M — to understand how they allocate their time, money, and trust.

The 2025 High-Net-Worth Professional Services Report reveals what today’s wealthy families value most, what disappoints them, and where satisfaction truly comes from.

From wealth management to wellness, from private schools to personal trainers — this study uncovers how the top 1% make choices that reflect their real priorities. You’ll see which services bring the greatest satisfaction, which feel merely transactional, and how spending patterns reveal what matters most to affluent households.

  • Benchmark your household’s service spending against peers with $5–25M portfolios.

  • Learn why emotional well-being often outranks financial optimization.

  • See which services families are most likely to change — and which they’ll never give up.

  • Understand generational differences shaping how the wealthy live, work, and parent.

See how your spending, satisfaction, and priorities compare to your peers. Download the report here.

What I’m Working Through Right Now

I’ve been thinking deeply about business again — what I’m building, what I’m learning, and what I’m getting wrong. Last week, I talked about launching a local media brand here in Benin. The thing that held me back for days was the name. I kept trying to come up with the “perfect” name, the kind that makes you feel like you’ve cracked the startup code.

But here’s the truth I had to remind myself of:
A name isn’t the business. The audience is. The value is.

If I launch with a name I don’t fully love, nothing stops me from rebranding later. Big companies do it all the time and still grow. What matters now is starting, showing up, and building the actual engine that creates value.

So I’m dropping the perfectionism. The brand name will land. For now, action is the priority.

The Plan I’m Following: Create → Grow → Sell

I’ve boiled my entire approach to three steps:

  1. Create
Start publishing. No silence. No waiting for the “perfect” moment. Just showing up.

  2. Grow
Build the audience. Earn trust. Collect data. Show consistency.

  3. Sell
Only after value exists. Only after people believe you. Not before.

This simple formula is saving me from overthinking.

This Week’s Accountability Goals (Before Friday)

I promised myself — and now I’m promising you — that before the next issue:

• The local media site will be live
• I’ll get the first 100 subscribers
• I’ll start publishing actual articles
• And the business will officially begin

Hold me to it.

I’m also still working on the PodMatch course. When it’s ready, you’ll get the link.

A Lesson I Learned About “Making Money Online”

A lot of people aren’t actually building businesses online — they’re just doing digital errands.

Watching videos for pennies. Liking posts for pennies. Clicking ads for pennies. Basically doing things that don’t build skills, reputation, assets, or long-term income.

Real online income comes from:

• Skills
• Clients
• Products
• Systems
• Consistency
• Value creation

Not taps, coins, points, likes, or lucky clicks.

If you want to make money online, build something useful or become someone useful. Everything else is noise.

Closing Thoughts

I don’t have everything figured out. The story is still unfolding, and honestly, I’m learning as I go — publicly. But that’s why this newsletter exists. We’re building together, one honest update at a time.

If you have questions about anything — business, my journey, or what I’m trying — reply to this email. I’ll answer.

Guest interviews are also coming soon. Once we start recording, I’ll send links your way.

Thanks for reading.
